One of the most beautiful in Punta del Diablo by its large size and huge dunes. The fiercest of the four beaches. While for its big waves is frequented by surfers, also could be swim across the bay with a guaranteed fun.

On the far left you can see the people of the fishermen and in the other end, is a lighthouse near the Widow house, which gave the name to the beach. You can watch whales, dolphins, sea lions and sea turtles.

This beach continues the bay of Pescadores Beach and ends at the tip of rock that separates Playa Grande. Sand is moist and medium wave, so it is ideal for surfing lessons.

Viuda forest

It is a forest located in the Viuda area??. Among the flora you can see a wide variety of trees such as curupi, eucalyptus, acacias and pines. Part of the fauna is made up of hares, weasels, deer, skunks, birds like the chingolos, viuditas, churinche, parrots, storks, lark, golden brown, gulls and owls.

Black Lake

Black Lake or the Dead, for its proximity to "cerritos" or indigenous burial. With an area of ??27,000 hectares, is surrounded by native forest, palms, swamps, with a large number of species of birds and mammals.

It can be accessed by boat to the Biological Station of Santa Teresa Potrerillo, a protected area to observe nature in its absolutely natural.

Santa Teresa Park

Cabo Polonio

Located 60km from Punta del Diablo. It has three small islands off the coast known as Torres islands where there is a substantial reservoir of sea lions, which can be seen from the coast. The homes have no electricity, only the lighthouse. You can enter on foot or all terrain vehicles.

Sea turtles

In the world there are seven species of sea turtles, four of which are found in waters of Rocha: The Olivacea, the Green, Loggerhead and the Seven Keels.

In Rocha from December to March with patience they can be seen in the rocky areas of Punta del Diablo.



Ombues mount

Located 28km from Punta del Diablo, near the Castillos lake, and has become one of the most visited natural forests in the country. It extends in a band 20 km. Where you can still see large numbers of herons, storks, geese, flamingos and ducks.

In the forest you can see examples of tal trepador, coronilla, chal-chal, canelon with over 300 tree species. The omb˙es, with ages ranging from a few days and 500 years, are the stars of this mount.

Santa Teresa Fortress

It is located inside the National Park. The construction started in 1762 by the Portuguese and continued with an exciting story! Inside you can visit a tinderbox, a chapel, a museum with models of the different forts in Uruguay, a collection of weapons, a nursing room, bathrooms and kitchen.

Town

Punta del Diablo originated like a fishermen town and when time was going by, company other houses, cottages, mansions, ranches, apartments, bars and other shops where coming. All seeking their own architecture. But yeah, reaffirming the joy of the place!
